Start with what feels familiar
Which of these have been running through your head?
Tap any that sound like you. We’ll point you to the conversation to start with.
It’s not always obvious how much you’re carrying.
Someone asks how you are, and you say you’re fine.
But you’ve spent half the morning paying attention to how your body feels. You’ve asked ChatGPT another question, hoping this answer will finally settle it. Now you’re trying to follow a conversation while part of your mind is somewhere else.
Or maybe it isn’t your health. You replay something you said. You picture everything that could go wrong. You reach the end of a perfectly ordinary day exhausted by things that never happened.
And the hardest part can be explaining any of it to someone who doesn’t feel it.
Resting Pulse is for the conversations you usually cut short. You don’t need the perfect words to belong here.
Episodes
Listen in any order. Take what’s useful.

Our first conversations are on their way.
Resting Pulse is coming soon. You’ll be able to listen right here when the episodes arrive.
You don’t need another lecture about “just thinking positively.”
You need somewhere you can be honest about finding this hard.
You don’t have to feel calm before you press play.

Your host
Hi, I’m Wayne. I lived with health anxiety for 15 years.
I made Resting Pulse to have the conversations I wish I’d had when so much of my attention was caught up in worry. Ones that don’t dismiss how frightening it feels, and don’t leave us stuck talking only about what we’re afraid of.
How we find our feet again. How we get through a difficult afternoon without writing off the whole week. How we start doing the things we care about before we feel completely sure of ourselves.
I bring lived experience, not a promise that I have every answer. My hope is that you hear something here that makes your day a little less lonely, and your next step a little more possible.

Sometimes you don’t just want to listen. You want someone to listen to you.

The podcast gives you a conversation to listen to. Steady gives you a place to join one.
A private community for people living with health anxiety, with psychologist moderators, chances to talk, and practical tools. Share what’s hard, connect with people who get it, and practise responding to worry without every conversation becoming another search for reassurance.
“I’ve been having a hard time with this” is enough to begin.
Membership is optional. Steady provides education and community support, not a replacement for therapy or medical care.

How To Beat Health Anxiety
Quit the Checks, Ditch the “What Ifs”: A Practical Guide for Lasting Relief
If the podcast is the conversation, the book is the practice. Short chapters, scripts you can say out loud, and symptom playbooks for chest pain at 2am, dizziness, lymph nodes and moles. Everything that worked for Wayne, in the order it worked.

A few things you might be wondering
Health anxiety is at the heart of the podcast, but we also talk about everyday worry, overthinking, uncertainty, and the ways anxiety can affect your relationships and your life. You don’t need a diagnosis or a particular label to listen.
There’s room for you here, even on the difficult days.
You don’t need a breakthrough today, or to finish listening with everything figured out. Start with one conversation.
