If you live with health anxiety, you already know the loop.
A sensation. A search. A moment of relief. And then, an hour or a day later, "But what if?"
You are not being dramatic. You are frightened, and you are tired, and being told to "just stop worrying" has never once told you WHAT to do next
Steady is a place to say that out loud, to people who get it, and to have a practical next step ready for the hard moments.
What support looks like inside
I have a scan on Thursday and I have already rehearsed every bad outcome. I know checking my symptoms again tonight will not help, but my hands keep reaching for my phone. I mostly just needed to say that somewhere.
The night before a scan is the worst stretch of the whole thing. I'm glad you wrote it here instead of carrying it alone. I'll be thinking of you Thursday.
That sounds exhausting. I'm glad you told us. We can't assess the symptom here, but we can talk about how the worry is affecting you. Would you prefer someone to listen, or would you like help trying a short exercise for the wait before Thursday?

Hi, my name is Wayne Harrel.
Fifteen years is a long time to spend wondering whether something is wrong with you.
A long time to lose sleep. To go over the same thoughts. To get an answer, feel some relief, and then find yourself asking, "But what if?"
I spent thousands of dollars trying to get certainty. Tests. More tests. More insurance coverage than I believe I needed. And countless hours trying to think my way into feeling safe.
But the money is only part of what I lost.
The part that hurts most is the life I wasn't fully there for.
The things I wanted to enjoy while my attention kept drifting back to my health. The ambitions I struggled to act on because my mind was occupied with another possible problem. The time I'll never get back.
I'm sharing this because, if you're living through something similar, I want you to know who's behind Steady. And why this matters so much to me.
I grew up in a poor household, in a developing country where power cuts were part of everyday life.
I was a smart kid. People around me expected a lot. Eventually, I expected perfection from myself. I could spend so much time trying to make the right decision that I struggled to make any decision at all.
Then I got access to the internet. For a curious kid who wanted answers, it opened up an entire world.
I read constantly. Watched health programs, including Dr. Oz. Learned about conditions, symptoms, and all the things that could happen to a person. Then I went back and read more.

Over time, learning about health became worrying about my health. There was always another possibility to investigate. Another question I hadn't answered. Another thing I could check.
The people around me didn't know how to help. I kept reaching for reassurance. Whatever comfort I found never seemed to stay.
Then I actually found a lump.
A doctor investigated it. The tests showed it was benign. But my mind took the experience and turned it into a reason to worry more.
See? You thought something might be there. And something was there.
That was the lesson I took from it. The benign result got pushed into the background. The fact that I had found something became a reason to keep watching my body. Keep checking. Keep making sure.
I know now that finding a benign lump didn't make every frightening thought a reliable warning. But at the time, it strengthened my belief that I had to stay on guard. And my health anxiety got worse.
I was frightened of dying. And I couldn't work out how to stop being frightened.
Sometimes, I felt dismissed when I tried to explain. "It's all in your head." "You need to stop worrying."

I wanted to stop. I wanted to sleep. Enjoy things. Put my attention into my life. But being told to stop worrying didn't tell me what to do when the fear returned.
So I kept searching. I lost sleep. Spent money. Ruminated. Spiraled. And years passed.
It took a long time to find what helped me build more peace.
There was no single sentence that fixed everything. No perfect test result that answered every future "what if?" Finding what worked for me took years of learning.
Now, when I think about who I was ten years ago, I wish I could give that version of myself a few things.
The Steady 8 step process is what it took for me to take control of my life. It took a decade and a half, years of therapy, and a lot of reading for me to develop a system, that virtually guarantees relief if followed with persistence.
I designed this, so a version of myself in the past, could have the tools that he can use, to get rid of his health anxiety without spending thousands on therapy and years in agony.
People he could speak honestly with. Someone who understood why he was asking again. Practical guidance for the moments when his thoughts started running away with him. And a place where he could say, "I'm scared," without feeling embarrassed.
That is why I'm building Steady by Deanxious.
I believe having this kind of community, support, and training could have changed those years for me. I can't go back and give it to myself. But I can help make it available to you.
That has become a personal mission.

Meet Dr. Linda.
Dr. Linda was the first person who didn't reassure me and didn't dismiss me.
She told me something no one else had: "You don't need more certainty. You need a better response to uncertainty."
Then she showed me how. Week by week, she taught me to notice the loop, delay the check, sit with the "what if," and turn my attention back to my life.
She saved my life. I don't say that lightly.
But here's what bothered both of us. Specialized health anxiety therapy is hard to find. Waitlists are long. Sessions often cost more than most people can pay every week. Most people who need this help never get it.
So Dr. Linda and I made a promise: take what worked for me and put it somewhere anyone can reach, for less than the price of a single therapy session a month.
"I've watched people get their lives back from health anxiety. It isn't magic. It's a skill, and it can be learned. Steady is how we teach it to more people than I could ever see one at a time."
That's Steady. She saved my life. Now we're bringing the same help to you.
Here Is How Steady Will Help You Kick Health Anxiety's Butt!
You don't have to know how to explain everything before joining. You don't have to finish a course before you deserve support. You can start with:
Watch Steady in action
And when you join, you also get these bonuses free with your membership.
No separate charge. No higher membership tier required.

Cancel anytime in a couple of clicks.
The community. The circles. The app. The course. The live learning. All eight bonuses.
Is your peace of mind worth a third of your daily coffee?
I want to explain that price honestly.
Running a membership like this costs money. Moderators need training and support. Facilitators need to be paid. The app, website, and resources need maintaining. And reaching people costs money too, including advertising to help people discover that this support exists.
I'm trying to keep the founding membership at $49 while we get Steady established.
But the price will go up.
If you join at $49, that monthly rate stays yours for as long as your paid membership remains continuously active, even when the price for new members increases. If you pause or cancel, the founding-rate lock ends. You can return at the rate available then.
I haven't set the increase date yet. For now, the founding rate is available.

One thing I want you to know before you join.
If you're coming here because you want someone to reassure you, I understand. I spent years wanting that too.
You're welcome to tell us. You're welcome to talk about how frightened or exhausted you feel.
Our members and moderators can't diagnose symptoms or establish that you're healthy. What they can do is listen, offer encouragement, and help you practice a useful next step when the search for certainty starts taking over.
You'll know that approach from the beginning.
I can't promise that joining will make your worries disappear.
I can tell you why I'm putting this together.
Because I remember the person I was. Because I remember how much I wanted peace. And because I want you to have access to the understanding, community, and practical guidance I wish I'd found sooner.
You can take your first step today. Start your welcome path. Explore a tool. Choose an available circle session.
And when you're ready, tell us what's been weighing on you.

P.S. You don't have to arrive feeling hopeful, confident, or ready to tell your whole story. If all you're ready to do is listen, that's enough to begin.
